COMPETING RASCALS, 2003, oil on canvas, 72 x 36 inches (183 x 92cm). *Bid starts at $2,500*

Competing Rascals is an Onaism/realistic acrylic on canvas story/depiction of seven young rascals in the nude by the river, blasting away urines upward into the air; to know whose urine could go higher than the other, and who wins at it.

In this art piece, the ground, trees and sky all have faced. Hence, the ground, trees, sky, river, and the toad are God’s appointed umpires.
Youthful exuberance coupled with little or nothing to do takes us back to some of the outrageous games we engaged in as boys, just for the fun of it.

The traditional motifs and forms in the painting are simply to emphasize the African aesthetics in the story with touches of symbolism and realism.

IN CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE
The late Professor Zulu Sofola was perhaps, the most important female playwright in Africa, and more so during her time in a male-dominated space where the voice of women seemed
unheard and under-appreciated, Zulu Sofola stepped forward and
distinguished herself as a literary icon.
She was a matriarch of Nigerian theatre and the first Nigerian female playwright to be published. She was Africa’s first female Professor of Theatre Arts and a true embodiment of the essence of African womanhood.

It's officially Women's History month
.

March is National Women's History Month which is observed almost all over the world, and in October in Canada, began with a single day. International Women's Day is March 8, and it has been observed in some shape or form since 1911. It was officially commemorated by the United Nations in 1975 and was officially recognized by the UN two years later.

In the 1970s, local groups and municipalities began celebrating Women's History Week. According to the National Women's History Museum, one of the most notable celebrations was organized in Santa Rosa, California, by the Education Task Force of the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women in 1978.

Thereafter Schools, universities and local governments came to realize that this period of time allowed them to not only celebrate the achievements of women, but look critically at equality and opportunities for women, and educate people on women's history. It was only a matter of time before the week became a month.
.
This month, we will spotlight on the achievements of women and girls around the world every day of the week.

So, here's it to all women and girls all over the world. We celebrate and love you!

What a fight!!!
😲😲😨
.
.
English boxer Tyson Fury defeated his American opponent Deontay Wilder with a seventh-round technical knockout in their rematch in Las Vegas on Saturday, February 22, 2020. It was a dominant performance from Fury who sent Wilder to the canvas several times before the fight was called off in the seventh round.
.
It was Wilder who attacked first from the bell but Fury regained his composure to exploit his opponent’s lack of defence. The English man sent his opponent to the canvas first in the second round. He did that three more times before the fight was called off in the seventh round.
Fury is now the WBC heavyweight champion leaving Wilder with nothing.
