Eat'n Ice Cream Shoppe

Well done, AL, supporting your local biz.

What a day! Holy cow, we thought we'd be busy, but wow. Thanks to everyone that stopped by and got a treat. Yes the line did get extremely long at times but I spoke with several people who were at the end of the line and they estimated it was about 15 to 25 minute wait. This is from 'street to treat'. So for those worried when they see the line that long that is a rough estimate.

We did run into some issues today, which I hope we're minor for those that may have been affected. We do apologise for that.
The vanilla did run a bit thin at times when that side of the machine was under heavy use. I am going to try and do a partial fix on it tomorrow but we'll have to see how it turns out as the only test we can run is having it under heavy usage.
I hope to get the flavor burst working early next week as well. That should really help our single vanilla machine.

But, we did sell a whole bunch of treats today, possibly the busiest day we've ever had! So, thank you to all that were able to come. We have to do an emergency run to get more ice cream tomorrow as at this pace we'd be out by Sunday....

See you soon!

Pay it forward.

Pay it forward.

While our Gift Card Challenge is not a way for our folks in need to sustain financially, it is a way to bring comfort & care. This pay-it-forward style challenge is about bringing love into your home, care of your community & local businesses! So even if you’ve made ends meet, & have the basics covered—a night off from cooking, a morning with yummy coffee, or a gift for upcoming Mother’s Day, are still needs. During this extremely stressful time, having little moments of comfort are a necessity. Please pass along our website to anyone you know that could use a little support from us, Albert Lea ❤️ www.explorealbertlea.com #circleofsupport #shoplocal

Wells Flame Theatre

We are overwhelmed. We wanted to do something for the community. We knew people love Flame popcorn. We didn’t expect to be so touched. People paid it forward for others and a woman came crying because she hadn’t been out of the house for 3 weeks. She came to have us bring her a buttered bag to the car. One came many times and delivered popcorn door to door to those who couldn’t get out. We will keep it up Fri & Sat nights 5-7 until we can open the beloved Flame once again. Yup, scammers and thefts love all of the info you’re giving them.

Posting pictures of all the cars you’ve owned is one thing. But I’ve come to quickly realize the dangers these chain-letter type posts are posing. People are giving out way too much information. Have you played along recently? I know I have...

Please be mindful of Identity Theft when you play these seemingly fun FB games of listing private things from your life. Places you’ve lived, visited, divorces you’ve had, favorite teacher, (yes even first car), childhood friend, first kiss, high school mascot, destination of your first flight, name of your first pet, etc etc etc... these are similar to those pesky security questions when setting up financial and personal accounts. You may be letting hackers and fraudsters know way too much about you. You may be listing the answers to your own security questions. Some of these posts are also being hash-tagged. Even easier for hackers to find. I’ll even bet your passwords contain something personal about you.

Ever wonder where/who these posts originated from? One can’t help but wonder if they were started by fraudsters themselves to gain knowledge of their victims. I certainly don’t have all the answers, but I want people to see these types of games in a different light. Please share.

Be safe, be careful, and beware! Don’t be a victim.
