Alden Soccer Tournament

Welcome to Week 2 of the Alden Soccer Tournament Soccer Ball Challenge! Thank you to everyone that submitted a video for Week 1, we will be posting some of those throughout the upcoming week!

Since this would have been Tournament Weekend, our challenge this week is a lot of fun and a lot more creative! You will have to design and complete your own obstacle course! As you will hear in Deanna's video, bonus points are up for grabs for creativity. Remember, videos (and therefore courses) are to be no longer than one minute!

Disclaimer: Extra bonus points will not be given for throwing out your back trying to do a cartwheel like Deanna! (Please no injuries!)

Have fun and stay safe!

Alden Soccer Tournament

As you may have guessed, the Alden 4v4 Tournament will not run this year. While we were disappointed we had made this decision, we know that our fresh ideas and new team members we had in the works this year will be even bigger and better when we all get together for the 6th annual tournament next Memorial Day Weekend!

BUT: Just because the tournament isn’t running doesn’t mean we don’t want you to play soccer! The Alden Soccer Tournament will be hosting a Soccer Ball Challenge in lieu of being able to join together and compete. Every Sunday for the next 8 weeks, starting this Sunday, May 17th, we will post a video of a challenge. We want you to get outside, grab your soccer ball, and give it a try! For every week that you submit a video of yourself completing the challenge of the week, your will get one submission for a raffle for one of two $50 Dick’s Sporting Goods gift cards that will be drawn at the end of the 8 weeks. For anyone that submits a video every week, you will be entered in for a second raffle of a $100 gift card!

This challenge follows all social distancing rules, gets us out in the sunshine, and jump-starts us on soccer season like the tournament usually would! Check out a more complete set of instructions below, and get ready for the first challenge this Sunday! Questions? Message us or send us an email at [email protected]! Stay safe, and have fun!

The Alden Advertiser has been publishing its weekly issue as usual. We have had many inquiries as it seems all towns outside of Alden are not getting their papers on time. We have reached out to the Post Office and was told whatever is going on is happening in Buffalo. All papers except Alden leave the Alden Post Office and head to Buffalo where they are sorted and sent out to the various towns. For an unknown reason the papers are stalling in Buffalo.
We apologize and thank you for your patience as we try to address the issue.
