It's okay to take time for YOU when you need it. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and I think very often we forget that, which leads to giving and giving and giving until we have nothing left. If this maternity leave has taught me one thing, it is this. Do what you need to do for you, and if other people don't like it, well then you don't need that negativity in your life. I'm not saying be lazy, but when you're worn out and feel like you got hit by a bus, don't keep trying to keep trying. It just won't work. Take a walk, grab a bowl of your favorite ice cream, or snuggle up with your favorite book. Do what helps YOU get back to YOU.
