What does being authentic really mean? To me, this is much more than a buzz word. It is a whole philosophy for not only my business, but for my life. I acknowledge and respect everyone. I share bits of my heart and mind with everyone. I listen and I speak and I write in truth - each and every time. I am true to my voice and I make decisions that reflect my integrity. Does this mean I don't make mistakes? No. It means I am honest when I do make them. I don't put on airs or pretend. I am simply me, because I am enough. What does being authentic mean to you?

Sometimes this journey to entrepreneurship feels like a carnival ride. One day I am up and I know that all my dreams will come true. The next day I am low and ready to walk away. For me, it's rooted in fear. We all have to battle this monster. We have to push through and be brave enough to stay on the ride. Getting off when it feels scary doesn't allow you to experience the full adventure as it is supposed to be felt.
This journey of growing and molding your vision of a businesses from nothing takes strength and perseverance. I'm starting to see the pieces of the puzzle take shape one piece at a time. For this I am grateful.
Earlier someone said they were happy to be part of the Connect Authentically movement. I ADORE this! Yes... it should be a movement. We should all strive to connect authentically in business and in life. Why should authenticity be less important in businesses or in corporate communications or in branding strategies? If you are true to your voice, then it will shine through.
