The PSAs were distributed as part of a nationwide campaign to increase recognition and use of the 811 "Call Before You Dig" number by highlighting the importance of protecting both our critical infrastructure and those digging around it.
The importance of the pipes, wires, and cables buried underground that support our daily lives is being “unearthed” with the help of Executive Producer, Host, and Author Mike Rowe and his animated alter ego micro Mike Rowe. Known from the hit TV series Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch, and his groundbreaking Facebook show Returning the Favor, Rowe is also CEO of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, a nonprofit organization that calls attention to America's skilled trade workforce and strives to close the skills gap.
Through the National Excavator Initiative, Rowe connects with industry experts who help educate viewers about the 811 process. Micro Mike Rowe creatively illustrates the consequences of not contacting 811 before digging to avoid injury and help save lives.

New Radio Campaign: National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) - Go For Real
Counterfeit goods cost U.S. businesses an estimated $600 billion per year, according to Steve Shapiro, Unit Chief for the FBI’s Intellectual Property Rights Unit. This is a staggering statistic given that, according to research conducted by NCPC, 81 percent of teens believe that counterfeits can start fires and harm health, but less than 20 percent care enough to change their buying behaviors.
NCPC, home of McGruff the Crime Dog®, is collaborating with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to take a stand against counterfeits. NCPC’s goal is to raise public awareness about the dangers of counterfeit products among teens, tweens, and parents, tying in law enforcement and industry. Along with its partner FILMSTERS, an award-winning television and production company, NCPC has created video and radio ads for its national media campaign entitled Go For Real.
