as much as I LOVE this time of year🎄🤗, not gonna lie, it came soooo fast! And I feel like it’s going to go by even faster😭🥴 anyone else get that feeling?? I can’t possibly be the only one lol.

idk about anyone else, but I get into these modes where I want to do digital art only. So I submerge myself into everything, for hours... sitting on my iPad or computer just going at it.

And thheennn, there are the opposite occurrences, where I want to do all things paint and hands on lol. This weekend I needed some self care time. I turned my computer off, painted some signs, did my nails, and I even did a tshirt craft!😅 played in some bleach, cut out an older design on my Cricut - The Official Page! & boom!

Quick Vinyl Application✨

Here is a 1 minute (sped up) video of putting vinyl on my water bottle. This was a quick design I lettered and cut out with my vinyl machine. As you see, I’m using some very stubborn vinyl I have laying around, a ruler, and whatever else in arms reach lol. Use what you have!🤗

Ronald McNair👨🏾‍🚀🚀✨

“ African-American physicist and astronaut Ronald McNair was one of the seven crew members killed in the 1986 Space Shuttle 'Challenger' explosion.
-
Born in South Carolina in 1950, Ronald became an MIT-trained physicist who specialized in laser research before joining NASA in the late 1970s. In February 1984, he became just the second African American to reach space, serving as a mission specialist aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger. On January 28, 1986, he was one of the seven crew members killed when the Challenger shockingly exploded 73 seconds after liftoff. -
While working as a staff physicist at Hughes Research Laboratories, McNair learned that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was looking for scientists to join its shuttle program. Of the 11,000 applicants, McNair was one of 35 selected in January 1978, and he completed his training and evaluation period the following August.
About five months after Guion S. Bluford became the first African American in space, McNair became the second with the launch of the STS-41B mission of the Space Shuttle Challenger on February 3, 1984. A mission specialist, McNair operated Challenger's robotic arm to help astronaut Bruce McCandless conduct his historic untethered space walk. McNair logged 191 hours in space as Challenger orbited Earth 122 times, before returning to Kennedy Space Center on February 11.”

“Arthur Ashe was the first African American to win the men's singles titles at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, and the first African-American man to be ranked No. 1 in the world.

Born on July 10, 1943, in Richmond, Virginia, Arthur Ashe became the first (and remains the only) African-American male tennis player to win the U.S. Open and Wimbledon singles titles. He was also the first African-American man to earn the No. 1 ranking in the world and the first to earn induction into the Tennis Hall of Fame. Always an activist, when Ashe learned that he had contracted AIDS via a blood transfusion, he turned his efforts to raising awareness about the disease, before finally succumbing to it on February 6, 1993.

Winning the U.S. Open Title in 1968
In 1963 Ashe became the first African American to be recruited by the U.S. Davis Cup team. He continued to refine his game, gaining the attention of his tennis idol, Pancho Gonzales, who further helped Ashe hone his serve-and-volley attack. The training all came together in 1968, when the still-amateur Ashe shocked the world by capturing the U.S. Open title — becoming the first (and still the only) African-American male player to do so. Two years later, he took home the Australian title.”

“ Daisy Bates was an African American civil rights activist and newspaper publisher who documented the battle to end segregation in Arkansas.

Daisy Bates was born on November 11, 1914, in Huttig, Arkansas. She married journalist Christopher Bates and they operated a weekly African-American newspaper, the Arkansas State Press. Bates became president of the Arkansas chapter of the NAACP and played a crucial role in the fight against segregation, which she documented in her book The Long Shadow of Little Rock. She died in 1999.”

“ Marie Van Brittan Brown was the inventor of the first home security system. She is also credited with the invention of the first closed circuit television. Brown was born in Queens, New York, on October 22, 1922, and resided there until her death on February 2, 1999, at age 76.

The patent for the invention was filed in 1966, and it later influenced modern home security systems that are still used today. Brown’s invention was inspired by the security risk that her home faced in the neighborhood where she lived. Marie Brown worked as a nurse and her husband, Albert Brown, worked as an electronics technician. Their work hours were not the standard nine-to-five, and the crime rate in their Queens, New York City neighborhood was very high.

Brown’s security system was the basis for the two-way communication and surveillance features of modern security. Her original invention was comprised of peepholes, a camera, monitors, and a two-way microphone. The final element was an alarm button that could be pressed to contact the police immediately.”

Jesse LeRoy Brown, born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on Oct. 13, 1926. When he graduated in 1944, he chose to attend a predominantly white college... That fall he became the only black student enrolled in the university’s College of Engineering.

In 1947 Midshipman Brown became the first black man accepted into Navy flight school. Next came Selective Flight Training at the naval air station in Glenview, Illinois, where he had to prove he could fly or be washed out. Brown went on to become the first African American man to complete Navy flight training. •

about 2 months ago I got a new tattoo & I couldn’t be happier! I’ve been wanting to get this for the last 2 to 3 years and I finally did it. as we’re coming up on two years since my sweet grandma passed, this piece means a lot to have gotten and I can’t wait to add more! my love for elephants & baking is all because of her😊💛 so my next addition will be something sweet🧁🍪

this evening started out with crafts with Leah, then I somehow got lost in my iPad 🖌 and I’m not complaining🌸

somehow Leah has 5 jean jackets so I decided we would paint the back of one, together! It started out fun lol but crafts are hard for me. I’m an artist but I like to be in control, and Leah has taught me to let go a little, more like IS STILL TEACHING ME after almost 5 years🥴

florals are always fun to play around and doodle with, but I never seem to do much else with them🤷🏽‍♀️🤗 as I wait for this bagel to pop out the toaster, I’m thinking I should probably be sleeping🙃lol
