The President has retweeted QAnon conspiracy accounts dozens of times. This, in addition to the numerous tweets he’s personally written calling into question the safety of vaccines and Obama’s citizenship, unfortunately makes him look like a nutty conspiracy theorist.

The Federal Communications Commission has officially published the order to undo net neutrality rules. Net neutrality supporters say the repeal will allow broadband companies to act as gatekeepers of how people use the Internet.

"We recommend that you uninstall the Captcha plugin immediately from your site. Based on the public data we’ve gathered, this developer does not have user safety in mind and is very likely a criminal actor attempting yet another supply chain attack."

The FCC move to eliminate net-neutrality rules opens the door to preferential deals for some content providers, closed doors for others.

Why Do You Need a Website?

Let’s find out!

1. A Brochure - but Online. This is the easiest and most far-reaching way for people to learn about your company, what it offers, how you can help them.

2. It Helps in Other Ways. Have a solid website show’s that you’re a serious business. This means more when you’re trying to do business with an official group such as your city, your Chamber of Commerce, and of course when you’re looking to your bank or credit union for a loan to increase/expand your business.

3. You’re Brand New. What better way to jump into your respective market, then with a website. It’s the most inexpensive way to show off who you are.

4. People! Yes, people. A website allows you to be viewed by 100,000’s of people with just a click. You’re not going to get the sort of exposure with a phone book listing.

5. Always There. You might not be open, but your website is still accessible 24/7. Win - without the sleep loss.

6. FAQs. Instead of fielding phone calls with routine questions, you can list a comprehensive section of Frequently Asked Questions on your website. Your potential clients/customers will be happy, and so will you.

7. Competing. You might only be a tiny business, but with a website, you can not only look bigger, but you can compete against those bigger guys on a much better footing. Websites do a lot to even the playing field.

8. Events. You’re getting married, celebrating a milestone birthday or anniversary, want to set up a memorial for a loved one, think you have the most amazing fur-kids in the world and want to show them off. A website will let you do that.

9. Resume. You’re job hunting, so let’s put us a good resume online. You can easily showcase your work this way, and it’s readily available to recruiters.

This is a screenshot of an email I found in my personal account yesterday; I've hidden the email address.

I have never had an Office365 account, much less access to one through a personal email. It's very obviously a scam.

But what if you DO have an Office365 account? A little due-diligence goes a long way in protecting you.

1. Did it go to your normal business email or a personal one?

2. Read carefully through the email. Are the spelling and grammar correct? Does it read like a real business email? Is the language the same for all of it? Check out my example, the top is in English, the bottom is not.

3. So it passed these tests, then what? Do NOT click the email link! Go to your account through your normal login and see if there are any security messages waiting for you.

4. Because these emails are 'fishing expeditions' you don't have to necessarily change your password, but it's not a bad idea to do so on a regular basis anyway.

As most of you know, I am not a Wordpress fan. In previous posts and in talking with a lot of you, I’ve explained why.

Over the weekend, I received an email from someone whose business is Wordpress based. He writes articles, shares photos, and most importantly posts videos – this is the core of his business model. There is a free area and a subscription section.

This email was letting everyone know that all the subscriptions were stopping and all the videos were being moved to YouTube; this website was shutting down.

Turns out the website had become nothing but extreme stress, and technical issues. He was doing all of it himself and had no one to turn to when the steadily increasing problems piled up.

The joy of the business was gone, and there was no time to create more content to keep the subscribers happy or generate new clients. In fact, at this point, they could not even access their content.

This is heartbreaking for so many reasons. I know this person, and giving up is not normally in their vocabulary. To have worked so hard, and have things go this bad, is soul-crushing.

Please, think long and hard before you tackle a website yourself. How much is your time worth? Do you have a technical support system? Do you have the time to manage the website and produce more content or products? You might be saving money up-front, but what happens later?

Tackling your own business website is never an easy decision to make; be certain you make the right one for you.

Credit firm Equifax has revealed that a “cybersecurity incident” allowed hackers to access the personal information of 143 million US customers — nearly half of the entire US population — including Social Security numbers, birth dates, and even credit card numbers.

Equifax says it first discovered the breach in late July.
