In April 2017, I graduated from my MBA program with no firm direction. I knew I would be working at Disney for the summer in Franchise Management but I wasn’t sure if it was my goal to stay there in the long-term (Me at the D23 convention above). During that summer, I had the benefit of working with several departments that went into making Disney’s franchises successful (e.g., Consumer Products, Publishing, Marketing, etc.) and getting a feel of which department fit my interests best.
It was in the marketing strategy sessions that I found my passion for segmenting audiences and I eventually transitioned into a market research role at MarketCast, a top vendor of research for the entertainment industry. There I was able to take more ownership of the properties that I worked on and it inspired me to use what I learned to start my own agency. Therefore, I started WRT Media LLC to help local businesses grow by helping them target the customers that will lead to the most sales through deliberate digital advertising.
