Chase Design Group is a creative agency dedicated to achieving client success through innovative strategy and breakthrough design. We believe that great design can have a direct positive effect on our client's business results. Our award-winning work spans research, brand strategy, corporate and product identity design, packaging and retail environments. Our team crafts effective solutions with an impeccable aesthetic - solutions that are compelling to the end consumer and produce tangible results. We think that's what great design is all about.

At Chase, we believe that questions can liberate great ideas from the chains of assumption. We challenge each other and our clients to embrace the "why" and the "what if." We work, everyday, to push our thinking higher and our designs farther. We listen, learn, ask and engage - offering ideas and strengthening our understanding of goals and constraints. We believe that the best creative happens in an environment that celebrates the open exchange of thoughts and concepts. We cultivate that environment, working collaboratively on every project in close partnership with our clients. The spirit of partnership and collaboration keeps us learning, growing and constantly elevating the level of our work. We do this because we know that award-winning design doesn't happen by accident. It's the product of many minds working together. And it starts with a question. Just ask.

Amor Obscura Letterpressed Coaster Set

Amor Obscura Letterpressed Coaster Collection. (link below)... On Valentine’s Day we shared our curious love for the art of the unknown, unseen and unanswered with the design community through a limited edition creation. This creation was inspired by the passion and craft of Margo Chase, our founder and perpetual muse. Margo was strong, visionary and obsessed with elevating everything she did beyond the mundane. In her honor, we offer up this passion piece for all that seek the intangible and exquisite.

This limited edition collection of ten coasters explore some of the more curious aspects of typography and graphic design. Each coaster brings to life uncommon knowledge of its subject in hand drawn illustration and typography.

At Chase we pride ourselves on our rich history of hand-crafted design. For this project, our talented team went beyond the ordinary to create not only with their hands, but also their hearts. Designers from all three of our studios put pencil to paper to celebrate this labor we truly love.

The collection is letterpressed and silkscreened with a combination of embossing, debossing and foil – inviting you to explore the arcane with your eyes and your fingers. Keep them in the hand-assembled resting box or leave them out for all to envy. Enjoy them over a drink with friends or on a dark night by a glowing fire.

Since we shared our Amor Obscura collection many have asked where to purchase it. Truth is we made it as a client gift but we’d love to help. If you are interested in the potential of owning one of these works of passion please go to the link below and add your name to the list of design lovers.

In film, it’s important for screenwriters and directors to pinpoint a target audience and make sure the story and the way it is told appeals to that demographic. They have to create a world in which a protagonist faces a challenge and overcomes conflict. Telling a brand story involves a similar process.

Ever wonder what Frozen and your brand story have in common? Our General Manager, John Tanner, breaks down how storytelling in film is akin to that in branding, and how brands like Mr. Clean are using their equity to keep consumers invested: http://www.mediapost.com/publications/article/279212/everyone-loves-a-brand-story.html

A tearful #ThrowbackThursday from our Executive Creative Director, Margo Chase:

"I was sad and shocked to hear the tragic news today. The death of Prince feels like the end of an era. In his honor I am posting a few examples of work I did for some of his early albums.
Designing for Prince was a crazy, wonderful ride. He's the only one who ever asked for illegible psychedelic lettering - in raspberry!
I will truly miss his talent and his style."

Our brand redesign for Mr. Clean featured on The Dieline blog today!

Although he has been in our homes since 1957, Mr. Clean’s significance as a brand icon has diminished over time. Co-brands and endorsements have come to dominate his packaging and a majority of the brand’s communications.

We’re excited to (very belatedly) welcome Kamilah Gibson to our New York team as Office Manager and Account Coordinator. In addition to keeping the office running smoothly and strategizing on new projects, Kamilah can be found onstage as a singer/songwriter and guitarist, pictured here at her gig last Friday at The Bitter End in Greenwich Village. We’re quite proud that our staff members are multi-talented in so many creative ways!

I shared this on the AIGA page after I had some time to get my head and heart around this loss. I thought I would come to Margo's pages and share as well. -- Margo inspired me at the very start of my career when I was still in art school. She came to give a talk l and I got to have a one-on-one with her that day. At the time, I didn't know of her impact in the field or even her work. I just really aligned with her sensibilities as an artist and enjoyed her a great deal. As a woman heading into the field and being the kind of artist it was becoming clear that I was during my schooling, I was becoming unsure of what my place would be in the industry. The only thing I did know by that time was my work didn't look my fellow students and the idea of working in corporate design made me very itchy. I knew that would not be a successful path for me. At the time, before that day, I hadn't come upon many any other options: especially for women Then Margo happened. We talked for a while that day and the conversation quickly turned into two girls gushing over design and styles and philosophies. It was like water in the dessert for me. She was genuinely excited while flipping through my book making comments and noticing things that no one to date had noticed, let alone genuinely appreciated and understood. I walked away from that time with her with such relief. That was the day I truly knew I had a future and was inspired to carve it out for myself, on my own terms Before I walked away from her she gave me her card and said to call her after I graduated; that there could very well be a place for me at Chase Design Group. Just knowing I could make that call gave me such wings. I always thought the day would come that I would call. When I heard the news of her passing, I found myself deeply regretting never taking her up on it. But then I realized something more important around what she gave me that day, and that was the vision of what my own path looked like and the inspiration and determination to step into it. That day was almost 20 years ago. And literally the next day I began visualizing what my own design studio would look like. The work I would do and most importantly enjoy doing to my very core. I still had time left in my schooling but I didn't wait until graduation. I began turning my homework assignments into branding and collateral pieces for the business I saw myself having, and how my other passion of baking and pastry art factored into that vision. Because we had talked about that as well; how one inspired the other and there really isn't any separation. She shared her other passions and how they greatly influence her design. That they didn't have to be separate and in fact, one inspired the other on a daily basis, so why not embrace that. In doing so, my true design heart was unleashed and that was the day Funk Delicious Designs was realized. To my surprise (and great relief) there were clients just waiting and looking for what I had to offer. Meeting her that day truly was the catalyst to all that. I am sure there are so many other designers that have a similar story. She was a walking inspiration without even trying to be. It was through walking her own walk and having an open and encouraging nature that naturally inspired at the deepest levels. To me, that is the best kind of leader and a true artist; the quiet giant :) Thank you, Margo Chase, for unleashing that thing in me that I thought I would have to put in a drawer. And for reminding me that it is my greatest asset.
