So…we citizens of Smashville gather this one final time during this kinetic Stanley Cup run. It’s been historic for the team, for the city, for the region, and for a growing legion of Pred Nation. The 766 regular season and playoff home contests over 18 season that have preceded this all lead to THIS night. And even though it is the last game in Bridgestone for this extraordinary campaign, we all know we don’t want it to be the the end for our beloved Predators. It is incumbent upon us to help their resolve, their tenacity, and their will to push these Finals to a Game 7.
Many of us are surrounded by family within the Quarrytorium…whether by blood or the common Gold Passion that flows in our veins. We’ve been through so much together in our mutual support of the boys during this epic quest over these many years. On this ultimate gathering on this humid evening in Music City, during every swell of voluminous urging during a rush, within every chant, every taunt, every song, every standing ovation…let’s not forget to take it all in, to celebrate what we have helped create as a body united. To revel in the community and bond we have together that makes the 7th Man within these walls (and beyond) so unique and wondrous.
Just as the team needs to prepare, we should remember to load the carbs and protein, and to hydrate throughout the day and during the game. We all need to keep filling up in order to keep emptying the bucket. From each and every one of us, this is going to entail a very full 60 minutes….and maybe even beyond.
The hockey world has been in awe of what we bring with regularity during these playoffs, and yet I fully believe we can hit a whole new level on THIS night. Let’s give them something more than they have ever seen….or heard anywhere else.
We are….Smashville! We shall roar like NEVER before!
