This week's #PluggedIn has us talking about the COVID-19 vaccine. As the vaccine becomes a reality for the U.S., employers are exploring the legality of mandating employee vaccinations in advance of their return to the office.

Brands should think about how they can re-create that personal connection with consumers in a world where they can move freely between their home, office, stores, etc. However, even with vaccinations, society won't return to "normal" immediately. Leverage new digital learnings from the start of the pandemic to create a seamless consumer experience between online and real-life.

In exciting healthcare news, the FDA just gave NightWare clearance for its prescription Apple Watch app, which is designed to improve sleep quality and help individuals suffering from PTSD.

As a result of the pandemic and increasing mental health crisis, the FDA waived several regulations for approving telepsychiatry tools to enable consumers to get quicker access to care and new breakthrough technologies. This means there’s a big opportunity for DTx startups to commercialize their products faster. It also puts added pressure on the CMS to offer medical coverage of digital therapeutics, which would open up a pool of tens of millions of customers for DTx firms.
