Founder & CEO of BOLD Worldwide. Entrepreneur. Keynote Speaker. Marketing Expert. Docu-Series: Growing BOLD. Building a $100,000,000+ Marketing & Media Company. Husband. Rescue Dog Dad. I was an entrepreneur at a young age. I started my first company at 16 making skate videos. I sold my first video at 17, and made $40k from the deal. I knew I wanted to follow my dreams and chart my own course, but I grew up in a risk-averse middle class family that wanted me to go to college and find a stable job. Needless to say, I was the black sheep of the family. But entrepreneurship was natural to me, although no one in family then or today has run business or been an entrepreneur. With no one to follow but a hunger for a different kind of life, I figured it out for myself. When I was 17 my father passed away suddenly the day before his retirement. He was in military, and had all of these incredible plans, and died day before he could live them out. In that moment, my whole life changed. I learned in the most direct way possible that no one was promised a chance at tomorrow. This lesson was driven to the heart of me, and it drives every moment of what I want to accomplish in life. I wasn’t going to wait to receive permission to live the life I wanted to; I couldn’t afford to wait. None of us can. From that point onward, I promised myself that I would no longer hesitate or wait for the perfect opportunity; I would take action, and look for chances to make my own opportunities. I am clear on who am and what I want to do and see. Right now I am focused in on growing my media and marketing company, BOLD Worldwide, to over 100 million dollars.

🚨 BREAKING: TikTok and WeChat will be removed from all US app stores on Sunday.

What do you think?

Big impact?
Or no big deal?

Whether you care or not, the reality is that this will have an impact down stream.

Influencers who jumped into the “fame” circle in weeks or months will be relatively unknown on other platforms. FB, IG, TW might benefit from less competition in the near term. And TikTok may fold to the political pressure and some large company may arbitrage it. Or it simply dies in the US.

Regardless of long-term outcome, this is why you can’t rely on any single 3rd party for your success. And I’m not just talking about social media. One vendor. One business partner. One friend. You need to have options in multiple areas in case you need to pivot.

👇So what do you think about this??

Goals are never impossible to achieve. The formula is quite simple.

However, so many people will make you feel like it needs to be complex. Like there’s 67 steps. That you need to wait until you have all the resources in place. Or that you must have an MBA to succeed.

While there’s absolute value in having a process, having resources, and being knowledgeable — it’s most important to be resourceful and take action on the right focus areas to achieve your goal.

👇 HOW have you been resourceful in chasing a goal??

THIS IS IMPORTANT: surround yourself with people who have a positive mindset. People who think as big or bigger than you. People who are going to push you and help you succeed.

ALSO: Stay away from the people who tear others down. Remove the people who are negative thinkers. Run away from people who try to make others look small so they can feel big.

#nonegativityallowed

Expand your circle and fill it with people who want to succeed and also want to see you succeed.

You don’t really want what you think you want. It’s deeper than that.

You’ve just been taught to stay surface level.

You’ve been taught NOT to understand that your real goals and aspirations are fairly simple. What you really want isn’t that difficult. But you’ve wrapped it all up in something complex.

And what happens when you do this? Your road to success takes longer because you’ve added steps.

When I am coaching high performers I tell them to get really clear on what they ACTUALLY want and then I help them find the simplest path forward.

You can do that too. Start w the outcome you want and work backwards.

So...what do you really want?👇tell me.

Life is short. Spend your time doing what fulfills you. What challenges you. What moves you forward. Forget everything else.

Your big win or next big opportunity might be right in front of you.

Maybe it’s in that email you haven’t responded to.

Maybe it’s that phone call you’ve been dodging.

Maybe it’s that person you haven’t checked in on in months.

Maybe it’s all those calls you know you should be making but aren’t.

I firmly believe that we all have every opportunity we need right under our nose...but most of us are too busy to see it or recognize it.

Take a step back. Get clear on what you truly want. And ask yourself “where’s my opportunity?”

👇 who needs to read this today?

09/15/2020

“The definition of genius is taking the complex and making it simple.” ― Albert Einstein.

Truths I have found:

1. It’s easy to do more. It’s tough to focus and do less.

2. It’s easy to write 100 pages no one will read. It’s tough to write 1 sentence that makes people care.

3. It’s easy to have options. It’s tough to make a choice.

4. It’s easy to add more products/services. It’s tough to focus on only what matters.

If you try to do everything and try to appeal to everyone - you will become nothing and appeal to no one.

Like Steve Jobs...you must pick a direction, understand your value, simplify, do less, and focus more if you want to build something great.

I hear from so many entrepreneurs that they have multiple businesses they want to grow. Or that they have one business making them money and something else that’s more passionate for them.

And most of them struggle to figure out which path to follow.

I feel that struggle. I’ve felt it myself before. As entrepreneurs we all have multiple passions and callings and things we could be doing. But it’s hard to decide.

What I’ve found is that the hesitation on going all-in on one things ends up hurting you in the long run.

I’ve found that if you put 100% of your passion and energy into one thing you WILL achieve your goal faster.

What that means is that you have more choices. The ability to switch paths sooner. The ability to generate business faster. And the satisfaction of creating progress.

NOW. It also doesn’t mean you have to choose. Maybe you can innovate and combine your passions into one business model that actually separates you from the pack.

👉👉 Tell me below. What’s your passion??

I see so many people working hard, grinding and putting in the hours - yet frustrated they aren’t as far along as they know they should be.

I know how that feels. I’ve been there before. Busting my ass yet not quite making enough progress.

I felt like I was doing all the right things, yet no matter how much effort I put in, progress was smaller than I expected.

Especially in my first business many years ago. I was working 18 hour days, killing myself, but I was constantly chasing one deal to the next.

Until I took a step back and analyzed the situation. When I asked “what do I really want out of business and my life?”

That changed everything.

Because I found that when I got super clear on the outcome I wanted (both in my business and in life) I was then able to understand exactly what I needed to focus on.

Because it’s one thing to put in 18 hours being busy. And it’s another to put in 18 hours being effective.

Once you get really clear on what it is what you REALLY want, you can build a strategy to get you there.

09/09/2020

Stop doing things the way you’re used to doing them. You MUST take full responsibility and full control of your situation. Big or small.

Take control and dominate.

Win.

Let’s go 🚀

09/09/2020

Motivation will not make you successful. It’s simply not enough to propel you to the top.

It’s impossible to feel motivated every single day. Impossible.

Success is a formula.

Success is achievable when you get super clear on the outcomes you want and then put together a simple strategy to get there.

We all want to feel motivated, but that’s not at the core of what will take you where you want to go.

Get it?

The questions we ask hold the power to our future.

Ask poor questions and get poor results.

Ask powerful questions and get powerful results.

Instead of asking “why did this happen to me?” Try “what can I learn from this situation?”

Instead of asking “why is 2020 so screwed up?” Try “how can I make 2020 the best year of my life?”

Most people think that answers have power. They don’t. All of the power is in the questions you ask.

👇What’s a powerful question you can start asking yourself?

09/08/2020

They said: “my business is up 50% I’m doing well!”

I said: “you’re only up 50%?! Why not 100%?”

09/06/2020

You can not wait for things to change or to get back to normal if you want to grow.

You have to change your entire approach. You have to change your model.

You need to get ultra clear on what you really want.

You need to understand your strengths.

You must focus on the areas of your life and business that will have the most impact on the goals you set.

It’s time to step up. Change. Get uncomfortable. And move forward.

09/05/2020

So what your industry was closed? So what you got sideswiped by the pandemic? So what!

It doesn’t matter. Either you are finding a solution, getting creative, innovating, or you’re waiting...hoping.

Hope won’t change your industry. Waiting won’t grow your business. Complaining on IG won’t fix your problems.

I’m not saying it’s easy. I’m not saying you won’t have to dig super deep. You will. But I am telling you that there’s always a way.

What are you doing about it?

For many, 2020 will be a year with a big asterisk next to it.

*2020

Those people will remember how hard this time was. How much they lost. How it didn’t go the way they planned.

But there’s an alternative.

Make 2020 the best year you’ve ever had. The you tell your grandkids about.

The people willing to use this time to focus on what they REALLY want out of life and business — it will be different.

The people that think bigger, take massive action, stay focused, take control, and ask better questions — it will be different.

For them, 2020 will be the best year they ever had.

Who’s with me?

09/03/2020

Do you want more deals?
Do you want to use this time to grow?

The biggest killer of dreams is slow decision making. “Maybe” or “ill think about it” are simply code for “I’m not clear on what I want”.

If you want to do big things in life commit to making fast, confident decisions.

I don’t know one truly successful person that takes a long time to make decisions.

A fast “yes” or fast “no” will take you places. A slow “maybe” will kill you.

Depth matters. Brands need to start realizing that people do business with other people, not companies.

Showcase the people. Tell a great story. Engage with me. Entertain me. Educate me. Don’t just market at me.

🛑 STOP!
Stop trying to do everything. Stop trying to be all things to everyone. Stop thinking that if you just hustle harder things will change. Stop thinking that you need to do it all. You don’t.

START focusing on what you really want. Start getting clear on the outcome you want to create. Start focusing on the areas of your business and life that will have the most impact. Start putting your effort there.

If you’re like me and have big dreams it’s important to remind ourselves to stay the course, but also focus on what has impact. It’s easy to get caught in the weeds. It’s easy to do more. It’s tough to say no and focus on less. But if you want to turn your dreams into reality it’s what you must do.

When you get clear and make fast decisions (ie “yes” or “no”) big things happen.

When answer with “maybe” or “ill think about it” all you’re doing is burning time. It means you’re not clear on what you want.

Clarity solves all problems.

There are two types of “successful” people on this planet.

The ones that want you to believe that are successful. And the ones who actually are.

I’ve spent time with some of the most successful people on the plant. And the influencers. And the up and comers. And everyone in between.

I can’t say that the truly successful people — the ones who have created long-lasting businesses, brands and wealth actually lack ego. That doesn’t mean they lack confidence (because most of them are extremely confident people) — but it means that they never think of themselves as the smartest person in the room. They want to be challenged. They want the best solution. They want everyone around them to succeed. They are willing to push others to the top along with them.

Then you have the ego driven people. You can usually figure out who they are because they constantly tell you how successful they are. They talk about themselves all the time and don’t ask for anyone else’s perspective. They are more focused on preserving your perception of them than they are actually focused on creating something amazing. They pretend they want others to win, but only if they can win a little bit more. Theses people might achieve some level of success, but it’s almost never world-class. It’s almost always short lived. And eventually most people see through it.

Ego is the biggest limiting factor in success. It creates a cap to what’s possible. It’s eats up business karma.

If you want to become world-class follow these rules:

1. Get clear on what you really want to create.

2. Focus on the outcome for you, but most importantly your customers & those you work with.

3. Take massive amounts of action in the right areas.

4. Ask lots of questions.

5. Listen more than you speak.

6. Drop the ego.

08/25/2020

There are three types of people. Dreamers. Doers. Creators.

DREAMERS think about what they COULD be. They consider what life would look like if things were different. Dreamers are often disappointed because they know there is more to life but it never quite materializes because they spend more time thinking than doing.

DOERS work hard. They take action. They love tasks. They grind. They hustle. They put in the work. But they are often a victim of circumstance. They might not even realize it. Because they are so busy being in the weeds they never get the chance to see what is possible or to look where they are going. They just keep grinding along.

CREATORS are the people that dream. The ones who have a vision. They see life for what is possible and then they put action behind their dreams to make them a reality. Creators architect the life they want and then build a roadmap to get there. They are excited by the journey AND the work.

Are you a dreamer, doer or creator?

None of them are wrong.

But if you want ultimate fulfillment out of your life and your work then you need to start to think of yourself as a creator. If you’re too much of a dreamer then you need to realize you have to put it into action. If you’re too much of a doer then you need to step back and give yourself time and space to dream.

Either way it all comes down to MASSIVE ACTION. You have to see the vision AND put in the work.

Big dreams never happen with small actions.

Hi Brian, I watched your free seminar Strategy Accelerator and am quite intrigued with your message. I was the founder of e-Hail (iTaxi), a partner at a digital media company located in lower Manhattan and involved in a number of other startups and local businesses... e-Hail was the first taxi hailing app on the market (even before Uber) and had an opportunity to crush competitors but, it could have been bad partners, the cities mandatory $20 an hour for our 10k plus drivers or a number of other elements that forced me to basically take it off of the market. The development company is based in NYC and has helped hundreds of businesses with design, branding, website development, etc. But quite frankly it was so boring and unmotivating as I am a entrepreneur, not a slave to society. Also I was using all of my time and energy towards others and not myself or my businesses. So since January of 2019 I just lost any interest of everything I was involved in. I could blame that on myself and/or my partners and a number of other reasons but, once my passion was gone it put me into a downward spiral. I used drinking or anything else that I could do to numb myself and take the pain away from losing my baby (e-Hail). I did however stay with dev company to pay my bills, up until this March (2020) when I decided I couldn't waste my time anymore by always helping other companies grow and not myself or my future busineses. It was time to bring myself back up, get on track and become the inventor and the entrepreneur that I am. So, I took myself out of everything and went home to my family farm in Ohio, where I am literally sitting outside on my porch at the moment, listening to the sounds of nature and writing you. Looking back, this was probably a smart move given the current state of the economy and the virus spreading. Also, I find this a great time to grow and not sit back waiting for things to get back to normal. Coming to the farm has helped me a lot and as an entrepreneur I still have a number of things in my pocket but, have been taking the time to focus on only one of those inventions, instead of being all over the place. While here, I have completed the software, built a beautiful design around it, finishing up the app for businesses and seem to be getting my drive and focus back. I am also doing this alone (no partners, nothing to blame on failure and nothing stopping me from success) and for once I am NOT finding myself spinning out of control on a million projects and trying to do everything for everyone else. This is my time to grow and time to focus. I have a plan, I have goals, I have an agenda, I have a team but, what I feel that I've been lacking is a true strategy. I will be begin selling the software this upcoming fall but in the meantime, will focus on my long and short term goals, where I am now and where I want to be and have a strategy to succed in my new to the market software. I will most likely also purchase the Masterclass as learning from others success is very important to me. I hope to hear back from you and hopefully with the advise you have already given me, I can get back on the path of growth and success. On behalf of entrepreneurs out there, large or small I wanted to thank you for taking the time to do this.
I'm so happy for you guys! :)
