INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT AIRCRAFTS :-
1. On December 17, 1903, Orville Wright made the first-ever manned flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. His flight lasted 12 seconds and covered a distance of 120 ft(37 m). That same day, Orville’s brother (Wilbur) made his first flight, which lasted 59 seconds, with the same aircraft.
2. It took 75,000 engineer drawings to build the first Boeing 747-100 !!!
3. Commercial airlines prohibit the carry-on of mercury thermometers because of the way mercury reacts with aluminum. If such an thermometer were to break and spill on a plane, even a tiny amount of mercury could badly damage the plane's aluminum frame !!!
4. You can fit 6 million golf balls inside of a Boeing 757 freighter !!!
5. One wind shield or window frame of the Boeing 747-400's cockpit, cost as much as a BMW !!!
