This is our family on Wednesday of the 2nd week of coronavirus quarantine 2020 in #southorangenj

As you can imagine, this is a very rough time for small biz and charities. Local photographer, @joyyagid is joining other photographers involved in #thefrontstepsproject where photographers are going around taking a very quick (while keeping their distance) photo of the family on the front porch to record this moment in history for a donation to a charity. Here's the deal: She comes to you and photographs you on your front steps for a very quick 5-10 min session. This is for MAPSO/SOMA families only. She remains at least 6' if not closer to 12' from you and then, you make a donation of $20 to @MEND: Meeting Essential Needs with Dignity (if this takes off, she'll rotate thru the local charities). You would get your choice of one high rez file. If you'd like to buy more files, she would charge you $20 per file. You are under no obligation to buy more files. So very tragic...our hearts go out to this officer’s family and the community of Jersey City

I just left the JC Medical Center and we paid respect to the officers and their families. I just want to say something about the officer we lost today.

His name was Joe Seals. He was a 15+ year detective with the JCPD. Even more than that he was a husband and a father to 5 children.

I know whenever someone is lost we always say how great that person was but in the case of Joe Seals it was 100% sure. He was one of our best police officers and was prob responsible for more illegal guns being removed from our streets over the years than anyone. He was an officer that loved JC, was involved in the community, and one that everyone knew regardless of their precinct. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe’s family during this Christmas season and beyond.

Sometimes we take for granted the work a police officer does when they wear that uniform. I know I’m guilty of it at times. In the end, they are people that volunteered to keep everyone else safe regardless of the circumstance. That was Joe Seals. Today we lost Joe as he was keeping the people of JC safe to which he volunteered to do. We were beyond lucky to have him here and over the years he saved so many lives with his great work.

He was a true hero and I know I speak for all the residents when I write that we are grateful for all that he did for JC.

Rest In Peace Joe Seals.
