This year we introduced a paid “Community Action Day” for all full-time DE employees to encourage volunteerism and engagement within our local communities. Our Homes.com folks have deemed Humanity to be at the root of their Core Values. A small group of volunteers recently got together to help clean and maintain the Equi-Kids property. EQUI-KIDS Therapeutic Riding Program provides, promotes, and supports equine-assisted activities for individuals who have mental, physical, emotional, social, or learning disabling conditions.
Last week we were honored to virtually volunteer for the United Way of South Hampton Roads Day of Caring. This year our DE volunteers managed to meet the moment using their heads and hearts to support Samaritan House, Children's Harbor Hampton Roads, ForKids, CHIP, and Meals On Wheels of Chesapeake Inc.
Whether it was writing cards of encouragement, donating household supplies, assembling supply baskets, recording videos of reading books, performing virtual puppet shows, or even building a website from scratch, we hope we were able to brighten the days ahead during these tough times throughout our communities.

Last week we hosted our first-ever “Cans for a Cause” event to benefit Manna Ministry. Our employees came together to donate nearly 1,400 food items for our neighbors in need, which equals a TWO MONTH SUPPLY!
