The Biggest Mistake I’ve Made In Business (And How To Avoid It)

In my opinion, this is the biggest mistake I’ve made thus far in my business career.

It’s led to me being overworked and underpaid

(hint: that’s not good for *anybody*)

The scariest part is that it seemed natural.

In other words, my “default behavior” was to make this mistake.

That mistake was being a generalist.

I was trying to serve everybody, and as a result, I served nobody

(nobody *well* at least)

Finally, I realized what was happening and made a shift.

We began focusing on solely working with clients in real estate.

And so all of our resources can be dedicated to creating the worlds greatest service for real estate agents and brokers

That creates far more value for our clients, which makes them far happier.

If you want to create the maximum amount of value you can, focus on solving one specific problem for one specific person. Let everything else go!

Don’t make this mistake.

Focus on one thing.

Be a specialist.

GIVE a man a fish, DON’T teach him (& How It Applies To Your Real Estate Business)

You’ve probably heard this before…

“Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.”

This is the idea of sustainability

instead of dependency.

And while that concept has merit,

you’ve probably been looking at this quote all wrong.

Let me ask you this:

If you wanted fish for dinner tonight,

how would you acquire said fish?

Would you voraciously read up on how to catch fish,

go buy fishing gear,

and actually go fishing?

HELL no.

You’d go right for the grocery store.

Because they’ve got the fish thing down already.

You don’t need to go try and fumble through it,

you can leverage the expertise of others.

(yay job specialization!)

The point being,

Just because you CAN do something yourself,

DOESN’T mean you actually should.

It’s all about using your resources

(money & time)

as efficiently as possible.

And going fishing, well…

it just isn’t the best use of your time.

So instead you spend money on efficiency that someone else provides.

Do you agree? If not, why? Share below👇

Real Estate Business Growth // Maximizing Your Resources

What we can do and achieve is fundamentally limited by our resources.

You basically only have two…

Money & Time

If you want a given task to be completed, then you’ve got to two options...

You can either spend your time doing the task yourself, or you can use money to have it done by other means

You can always make more money, but you can’t make more time.

So we need to prioritize spending our time doing things that allow us to create the most value

As for things that still need to be done, but aren’t worth your time to manually do…

automate, delegate, or eliminate

(ruthlessly)

Time is our most precious, most finite resource - be sure you’re maximizing it!

How Ice Cream Can Help You Grow Your Real Estate Business

You may have never thought that ICE CREAM,

of ALL things,

could help you grow your real estate business.

But it’s true.

Oftentimes, the most profound lessons are in the most unlikely places,

and this is no exception.

The lesson is in the paradox of choice.

Think about going into an ice cream store…

You walk in and see 95 flavors of hard ice cream

Whoa

*jaw drops*

You stand back like you're admiring a work of art in a gallery.

Wow… just wow.

Now think about going into an ice cream store that’s old school.

The ice cream server is wearing a yellow and red vertical striped shirt,

with a paper hat, of course.

And instead of 95 flavors,

They have

chocolate

vanilla

and twist.

You know what you’re getting immediately.

Fewer choices means an easier decision.

But here’s the real key:

It also means a faster and more confident decision

To tie it back, think about advertising your business.

The easier you make it for people to make a decision and take action,

the more successful the ad will be.

Don’t overwhelm people with information,

just tell them how you can help them get what they want.

And then make it easy for them to get that thing, too

And you do that by keeping it simple - giving them 3 options... not 95.

How Hesitation Is Crushing Your Real Estate Goals

When Agents do this, they fall flat on their face.

They get stuck in no man’s land.

They fail to make any progress at all.

This is the trap of #hesitation.

By hesitating with something,

we’re “half-assing” it.

Like being on the gas & brake pedals

… at the same time.

You don’t end up going anywhere at all.

Just burn up a lot of gas,

wear down your tires,

while remaining in the

same

damn

place.

Don’t fall into the hesitation trap.

Commit to things.

Be patient.

See if they play out.

Don’t be too quick to pull the plug.

Otherwise, you’ll really never know if something could have worked or not.

Be confident and calculated in your decisions,

commit to them fully,

and you won’t stay stuck.

You’ll win,

or you’ll learn.

Whatever you do,

just don’t hesitate.

Blind Spots Will Ruin Your Business (If You Don't Spot Them)

The silent killer of our dreams and goals in business...

Blind Spots

The mistakes we make that *we don't even realize* we're making.

But in order to identify these mistakes we're unaware of, we need to be open to the fact that we might actually be making mistakes in the first place.

(and that requires eating a lot of humble pie)

We need to constantly question the things we believe in order to identify and irradicate these sneaky blind spots.

It's like a test to make sure the beliefs we hold are legitimately worthy of our belief in them.

If they stand up to the test, great.

If not, we need to take corrective measures.

If we don't do this, business will suffer greatly.

Be humble and open to confronting your mistakes in business - it's the only way they can be corrected, and the only way we can grow.

The #1 Bottleneck for Real Estate Agents

The most limiting factor realtors face,

honestly, the most limiting factor we ALL face,

without a doubt,

is time.

You can only do so much.

As a result, if you want to expand your business,

but your method of acquiring new business is networking and referrals,

then you have a BIG problem on your hands.

You only have so much time to do networking activities.

Time is a very limited resource.

This is when you’re forced to consider

not investing your TIME,

but your MONEY.

And this can actually be done quite effectively,

so you produce a healthy ROI.

What are you investing your money in to grow your real estate business? Is it producing an ROI?

If not, you might want to think twice about continuing to do it...

The #1 Way To Build Trust With Your Real Estate Clients

In order to win new Real Estate business, you need to build trust with your clients.

And in order to build trust,

well...

...you need to be trustworthy!

That means you need to be honest and communicate effectively.

Let me explain - check out the video👇

What You Need To BELIEVE To Be Successful In Real Estate

You may have heard of Anton Checkhov...

He grew up in Russia during the 1870s,

his father was an abusive alcoholic, and his family business went bankrupt when he was 16 years old.

His family left him behind to finish school, while they fled to Moscow to avoid debtor's prison.

Anton had every reason to end up like his Father.

But instead, he paid his own way through the rest of his schooling by selling stories he wrote and tutoring other kids.

On top of that, he graduated with such high marks that he earned a scholarship to medical school,

and he became one of the greatest short fiction writers to ever live.

In spite of his circumstances, he *believed* there was another way,

and so… he created it.

He took his challenge and created an opportunity.

Now, we face challenges in our lives every day.

(now, more than ever, perhaps..)

And unfortunately, there are many things that we simply cannot control

(aka a crazy pandemic)

But you can control your attitude

And your attitude ultimately forms your beliefs.

So if you have a positive attitude,

and you believe that you can turn the challenges you find yourself in, into opportunities,

you’re going to be much better off in the long run.

If Anton could overcome his circumstances, you can overcome yours.

Real Estate Business Growth | Outflow = Inflow

Real Estate Agents who feel stuck,

who just aren't experiencing the growth they want,

are just missing one fundamental principle.

It’s the only thing you need to win the numbers game you’re playing

(aka sales)

Now, when it comes to this game,

the more you play

the more you win.

Pretty simple concept, right?

Just like baseball…

The more at-bats you have,

the more home-runs you’ll hit.

So in your game of Real Estate,

the more you outflow,

the more you’ll inflow.

The more value you create,

that is...

the more buyers you talk to at open houses,

the more people that click on your ad,

the more you help people,

the more people will want you to help them even more

... by buying/selling a home for them.

OUTFLOW = INFLOW

How are you outflowing value to your network?

Real Estate Lead Quality vs Quantity

The age-old Real Estate question...

Internet Leads vs Referrals/Word-of-Mouth

Which is better?

I’m sure you’d like to know,

but that’s the wrong question.

This is a question of Quantity vs Quality

And the short answer is:

Both.

They’re both great for different reasons.

You want Quality...

(because Quality = transactions)

… but you also want Quantity

(because Quantity = scale)

… so what do you do?

To tell you the truth,

all you need to do is this:

1. Generate leads (Quantity)

2. Qualify leads (Quality)

3. Set appointments with qualified leads

4. Conduct appointments & win business

If you want to see a system that allows all this to be done on complete *autopilot*...

comment “demo” below

and I’ll send you a 13-minute video that walks through exactly how we are currently doing this with our real estate partners.

That is…

how we are consistently booking appointments for them with newly pre-qualified leads

The Funnel Idea Is Completely Backwards. Do This Instead.

Real Estate Agents, I hate to break it to you,

but…

your concept of the sales funnel is wrong ‎👎

You’ve probably been taught the sales funnel your whole career,

it’s not your fault.

Your funnel is just upside down.

Flip your sales funnel on its head,

and welcome to the world of the

Value Pyramid

Why?

Because funnels are top-heavy and unstable,

they fall over easily.

Pyramids stand strong.

If you want to grow your business long-term,

you need to use this approach.

The only way to create something that lasts,

is by having a strong base.

The way to build that base is by giving value and earning trust.

This is the approach you need to take.

This is playing the long-game.

Stop trying to jam people down your pipeline.

Lift them up your value pyramid.

(you’ll make more money that way anyways)

What are you doing to build the base of your Value Pyramid?

⚠️ How To Handle Clients During COVID-19 ⚠️

How should you manage your clients during sensitive times like these?🤔

Honestly, it’s not that complicated.

Just do two simple things,

and you’ll win your clients for life.

Thing #1

Acknowledge their concerns.

People are SCARED right now.

All socially distanced, and just…

couped up at home

with nothing to do but endlessly scroll these scary,

scary news headlines and Facebook posts.

(it’s not making them feel any better)

So you need to be their rock.

You need to have empathy.

You need to be their guiding light during this craziness.

So it’s imperative

(now more than ever)

to not be pushy,

but to hear them out and help them navigate their options.

Which brings me to

Thing #2

Be their solution.

They’ve got a problem right now.

And it’s no small fry.

It’s uncertainty about the future.

And when it comes to big decisions,

well...

it’s kind of a big deal.

So you need to offer the SOLUTION

to their PROBLEM

by giving them insight and understanding

on the options they have.

So they can continue to progress toward their goals.

Simple as that.

How are you managing your clients during this time?

How Coronavirus Impacts Your Real Estate Business

😱😱“How is the Coronavirus going to impact my Real Estate business?”

It’s on everyone’s mind, of course.

❌But that isn’t the right question.

The right question is...

“How am I going to LET the Coronavirus impact my business?”

It’s all about your mindset 🧠

At the end of the day,

that’s really all it boils down to..

your attitude.

The manner in which you approach the situation.

The legendary pirate Jack Sparrow famously said..

“The problem is not the problem,

the problem is your attitude about the problem.”

So take advantage of this time and do what you can.

Maybe you can’t conduct open houses…

maybe your clients want to hold off on any transactions right now.

No problem 💪

Great opportunity to strengthen that pipeline for the future.

How?

By being a steady resource for your clients

during this unsteady time.

Help them navigate their situation in these wild circumstances.

Then, when they are ready to transact,

there you are…

Their favorite realtor who helped them through a difficult time.

It’s all about focusing on what you can control

and playing the long game.

So what are you doing to take advantage of this crazy time?

Close More Real Estate Deals (In The Next 90 Days) With This Simple Concept

‎🤔What fundamental idea is part of nearly every culture across time?

The simple concept that your actions in the present determine your future.

👉It’s the golden rule.

👉The law of reciprocity.

👉The religious beliefs regarding life after death.

👉What comes around, goes around.

(...is this horse dead yet?)

👉You get what you give.

👉It’s karma, for Pete’s sake!

The way this translates to real estate is simple…

The more value you give,

The more value you’ll receive.

Not immediately, but ultimately.

Value builds trust...

which builds relationships...

which creates business opportunities.
