4th Annual AIGA UPSTNY Student Portfolio Review April 12th, 2012 :: 6–10PM The Upstate New York Chapter of the AIGA invites the 2012 graduating graphic design students of New York to our 4rd Annual Student Portfolio Review. THE EVENTThe review is a chance for you to practice your interview skills...

Hi everyone,
Long time no talk.... So as the year winds down (or up if you're a portfolio crazed senior right now) it's time to pass along SU AIGA to the next generation. We would like to create a ballot for the following positions available:

Vice President

If you would like to be considered for any of those positions please respond to this email ([email protected]) BY WEDNESDAY (4/11) AT 10AM with your name, class year and position you're interested in.

We will draft up the ballot and have you all vote on it at the next meeting. This meeting will be held on Friday, April 13th at 5pm.

Second: Now you're all probably wondering when the heck you'll be receiving those official AIGA cards.... I sincerely apologize for the delay and hope it hasn't hurt your job/internship searches. I sent out an email awhile back about the credit card numbers not being accepted anymore and only got one or two checks in replacement after that. If you gave me a credit card number back in the day and would still like to be a member officially, please bring a check for $50 made out to AIGA with you to the next meeting. Once they are submitted you can go on to the website, make your free account and then when we send in our roster list your account will get linked up to it and you will have full access to the resources of the AIGA website and get your cool card. You can also sign up and pay your $50 on your own online, just make sure you connect it to us or let me know you've done so so that I can add you to our roster.

Third order of business: We have been contacted by Gitta Stoner, Recruiting Specialist at VPA who really would like to have SU AIGA represented at the student club fair happening this month. I think this would be a great opportunity for those of you who will be carrying on this club after we seniors bounce to show incoming students our program's connection to the outside design world. I would like to send someone (can be any member, not just a position holder) to go to at least one of these fairs.

The dates are: (9:45-12:00)
Monday, April 9
Friday, April 13
Monday, April 16
Friday, April 20
Monday, April 23

Please let me know ASAP if you would like to volunteer and I will coach you on what to do. Not much of a time commitment for you so please consider it as an opportunity to start making SU AIGA work for you!

Thanks so much guys, I hope to have a big turn out on the 13th so I can pass this thing off to ya'll. Hope everything is going well and see you around!!

Hey SU-AIGA-ers.... Here's the first event of the season to participate in. Those of you who do not have 450 on Tuesday go to CMYK at Empire! Who knows which design gurus you might run in to....

Creative block…it happens to the best of us. And yet so does inspiration, sometimes seemingly out of nowhere…whether sudsing your hair, walking the dog, or cleaning the garage...

Come to our GENERAL INTEREST MEETING: This Friday (Sept. 15th), 5pm @ The Warehouse 3rd Floor lounge.

Join us and see how you can grow as a designer and connect to outside resources while at SU!

e-mail: [email protected] for more info or with any questions. See you Friday!
